Gerhard Kerschbaumer placed sixth at World Cup XCO round-6 in
Windham (Maine, US) on Saturday,
June 30th. Italian U23 on
Bianchi Methanol SL2 crossed the finish line 2 minutes and 4 seconds behind winner, Dutch Michiel Van der Heijden.
“
We’re not happy with this result, but Gerhard was close to drop out because of intestinal problems with retch conditioning his performance. Kerschbaumer is disappointed, but he just has to stay peace and quiet awaiting the next race to take his revenge”
team manager
Massimo Ghirotto explained after the race.
Thanks to the 35 points achieved, Kerschbaumer went up to fourth position in the GC with
282 points, 73 less than the new leader, Van der Heijden himself.
