Hors
Categorie: in cycle racing these are
the toughest climbs. Only champions can challenge
and dominate them. The Hors Categorie bikes
have the same DNA as champions, the special
signs that make the difference. Above all Extreme lightness,
but also a lot of care for details in frames
that do not like compromises and aim straight
for performances. What counts more
than anything else is pedalling, and fast at
that. Two models: 928 Carbon SL and FG
Lite Carbon.
With cutting edge design, the new 928 Carbon SL is the result
of a fine-tuned integration of structural parts. Each tube is designed and developed
to fulfil the task assigned to it. The computer analysis of performances is fundamental
for the construction model, as does nanotechnology employed within the
carbon fibres. The tubes are not only light, but also incredibly stiff,
with a 27% increase in their performance. This is an absolutely unbelievable
figure if one thinks of the minimum margins allowed by this level of product.
The weight target for these frames is actually less than one kilogram, a value
that belongs to the category of excellence. A category in which we also find FG
Lite Carbon, the riders’ frame. The blades of the rear seat stays
feature a new design, as does the head tube on the all-aluminium version, the
same one used by Pro Tour champion Danilo Di Luca. The result? An unbeatable
bicycle in terms of reaction and aptitude for competitions. The weight target
is vital, and the FG Lite Carbon weighs less than 1 kg. The SL fork is completely
renewed and stylized. Computer analysis of the stresses provides an important
contribution in the design of the shape. The blades are now straight, for better manoeuvrability and resistance
to stresses, the material is made of carbon fibre and nanotechnology. Exceptional
weight target: the SL weighs only 300 g for a full length. Few other forks on
the market can boast such a low weight.
