Androni Giocattoli’s
Alessandro De Marchi was runner up on
Bianchi Oltre at Giro d'Italia's stage-16, 174 km from
Limone sul Garda to
Falzes (South Tyrol), on Tuesday,
May 22nd. On the latest climb, Italian rider went really close to recover the gap from Spanish Jon Izagirre, then outsprinted Dutch Stef Clement.
De Marchi had already achieved a podium at Giro's stage-14, 206 km from
Cherasco to
Cervinia (Northern Italy), taking third.
At 2012 Giro team Androni Giocattoli, equipped with Bianchi Oltre bikes, also clinched two victories with
Miguel Angel Rubiano Chavez in
Porto Sant’Elpidio (stage6) and
Roberto Ferrari in
Montecatini Terme (stage11), a further second position with
Fabio Felline in
Frosinone (stage 9) and a fourth with Ferrari himself in the second stage, featuring start and arrival in
Herning (Denmark).
