Italian sprinter Roberto Ferrari on Bianchi Oltre took an overbearing victory at Giro d'Italia's stage 11, 255 km from Assisi to Montecatini Terme (Tuscany - Central Italy). Thanks to a burst of speed on the home straight, Androni Giocattoli's rider outsprinted Italian Francesco Chicchi and Lithuanian Tomas Vaitkus, withstanding World Champion Mark Cavendish recovery’s attempt.
 
Ferrari's took the second victory for Androni Giocattoli team and Bianchi Oltre at 2012 Giro d'Italia, after Miguel Angel Rubiano Chavez stage6 solo win in Porto Sant'Elpidio. At 2012 Giro Gianni Savio's team also placed second with Fabio Felline in Frosinone (stage 9) and a fourth with Ferrari himself in the second stage, featuring start and arrival in Herning (Denmark).

Strellson Meets Bianchi Spring 2012 campaign is on the launching pad in Canada. On Friday, May 25th Bianchi bicycles (Oltre and Infinito models) will be placed within the Strellson shop-in-shop located in the men’s department on the second floor of the Bay flagship location in downtown Toronto.

Bianchi product brochures and Celeste bracelets will be placed in gift bags for all VIP customers and Media. The Campaign runs from May 25th to June 17th.

Italian Fabio Felline was runner up on Bianchi Oltre at Giro d'Italia's stage-9, 166 km from San Giorgio del Sannio to Frosinone (Central Italy), on Monday, May 14th. Androni Giocattoli's rider came away from the last demanding bend in good position and contented for victory with Spanish Francisco Ventoso.

At 2012 Giro team Androni Giocattoli, equipped with Bianchi Oltre bikes, had already achieved a fifth position with the sprinter Roberto Ferrari in the stage-2, 206 km featuring start and arrival in Herning (Denmark), and a success with Miguel Angel Rubiano Chavez in the stage-6, 210 km from Urbino to Porto Sant'Elpidio (Central Italy).

Stephane Tempier kept the World Cup XCO’s Top10 after third round in Nove Mesto Na Morave (Czech Republic). TX Active-Bianchi's rider on Bianchi Methanol SL2 placed 22nd in the race won by Swiss Nino Schurter, on Sunday, May 13th. In the general classification, Tempier is ninth with 292 points.

Tony Longo and Leonardo Paez crossed the finish line out of the Top30.

Rookie Katia Moro clinched the success at CX Italian Championships in Pineto (Central Italy) thanks to a great recovery on Sunday, May 13th.

Dutch Kenny Robert Van Hummel on Bianchi Infinito clinched victory at Tour de Picardie's stage-2, 178.5 km from Tergnier to Villers-Bocage (France), on Saturday May 12th. Vacansoleil-DCM's rider crossed the finish line in the second position, but won the race after French Nacer Bouhanni was set back by the jury for a “bumpy sprint”. Thanks to this result Van Hummel went-up to second position overall.

It's the first victory for Dutch rider on Bianchi Infinito. In the early season, Van Hummel claimed podium bike at Belgian classic Kuurne-Brussel-Kuurne on February 26th, then placed fourth in the Volta A Catalunya's opening stage on March 19th.

Van Hummel clinched a further podium placement in the last stage, 171 km from Fressenneville to Maignelay-Montigny on Sunday, May 13th, taking third and closing second in the Tour de Picardie's general classification.

Belgian Thomas De Gendt was fourth on Bianchi Oltre at Giro d’Italia’s stage-8, 229 km from Sulmona to Lago Laceno won by Domenico Pozzovivo, on Sunday, May 13th.

Gerhard Kerschbaumer on Bianchi Methanol 29 SL went close to Top-5 at World Cup XCO's round-3 in Nove Mesto Na Morave (Czech Republic), on Saturday, May 12th. TX Active-Bianchi's rider placed sixth in the race won by Czech Ondrej Cink.

Kerschbaumer kept the podium in the general classification: Italian rider is third with 155 points. “I’m happy I kept the podium, but I’m not totally satisfied with my performance. I look forward to take my revenge: I’m really motivated” Kerschbaumer commented.

Elite Stephane Tempier, Tony Longo and Leonardo Paez will be in the action on Bianchi Methanol SL2 Sunday, May 13th at 2.10 pm. After two rounds Tempier is sixth placed in the general classification with 230 points.

TX Active-Bianchi team will line-up the full roster at World Cup XCO round-3 in Nove Mesto Na Morave (Czech Republic), on Saturday-Sunday, May 12th-13th. Elite  Stephane Tempier, Tony Longo and Leonardo Paez on Bianchi Methanol SL2 and U23 Gerhard Kerschbaumer on Bianchi Methanol 29SL will all enter the Czech race.

U23 Gerhard Kerschbaumer will be on the starting line on Saturday, May 12th, at 3.30 pm. The defending champion is third in the general classification with 120 points, behind Austrian Alexander Gehbauer and Czech Ondrej Cink.

Elite Stephane Tempier, Tony Longo and Leonardo Paez will be in the action on Sunday, May 13th at 2.10 pm. After two rounds Tempier is sixth placed in the general classification with 230 points. Longo entered the Top-30 after last race in Houffalize (Belgium).

Bianchi will provide Androni Giocattoli's Josè Rujano with a special Oltre frame featuring unique graphics on Giro d'Italia's stage-7 (205 km from Recanati to Rocca di Cambio) on Saturday May 12th.

Androni Giocattoli's Miguel Angel Rubiano Chavez on Bianchi Oltre took an outstanding solo win at Giro d'Italia's stage-6, 210 km from Urbino to Porto Sant'Elpidio (Central Italy), on Friday, May 11th. Colombian rider left the early race's breakaway group with 45 km to go, crossing the finish line with a 1:10 advantage on the the new race leader Adriano Malori.
 
Rubiano is now 4th in the GC, although Colombian rider was pedaling on his Oltre virtually wearing the pink jersey until three km to go, after having taken the KOM classification lead. Rubiano took Colombian 15th victory at Giro d'Italia and the third for Bianchi Oltre bike: the previous victories had been taken by Angel Vicioso in Rapallo (North-West Italy) and Josè Rujano on the Grossglockner tophill (Austria) in 2011.
 
At 2012 Giro Androni Giocattoli already took a Top-5 with sprinter Roberto Ferrari in the stage-2.

Bianchi is the official and exclusive bike sponsor of 17th Felice Gimondi - Bianchi Granfondo scheduled on Sunday May 13th, in Bergamo. Over three thousand riders will enter the prestigious GF event named after Felice Gimondi, a champion who represents a significant piece of the Bianchi history.

Bianchi will be in the Expo area in Bergamo, from Friday 11th to Sunday 13th to display the top models of Road, Mtb and Urban range - including Oltre, Methanol 29 SL and Metropoli. Colombia Coldeportes’ riders on Bianchi Sempre will be in the action on the USA West Coast at Amgen Tour of California (May 13th-20th). The race will start in Santa Rosa and finish in Los Angeles at the end of eight tough stages, including a demanding uphill finish to the Mt. Baldy on the penultimate day.

Featuring Bianchi’s special racing geometry, the Sempre carbon monocoque frame is part of B4P (Born for Performance) family and is engineered to combine stiffness with lightweight.

The use of Carbon Nano Technology makes the Sempre frame extremely rigid and the reduced tube section of the seat stays (UTSS - Ultra Thin Seat Stay Technology) contributes to weight reduction while improving shock absorption and power transmission.
 
Colombia Coldeportes took off from Milan on Thursday, May 10th with a very strong and motivated team, led by Sports Director Valerio Tebaldi: Darwin Atapuma (“prince” of Pordoi mountain at Giro del Trentino’s last stage), Fabio Duarte, Javier Gonzalez, Wilson Marentes, Carlos Quintero (winner of king of mountains’ polka-dot jersey in Dunkerque two days ago), Victor Hugo Peña,  Michael Rodriguez and Juan Pablo Suarez.

Bianchi will organize two dealers event on the occasion of first and last stage, together with team Colombia Coldeportes and Bianchi USA.

Colombia Coldeportes' Carlos Quintero on Bianchi Sempre won the KOM classification at "4 Jours de Dunkerque / Tour du Nord-pas-de-Calais 2012" in France, on May 4th-8th.

Quintero took the polka-dot jersey in the stage-2, 180.2 km from Berck sur Mer to Montreuil sur Mer, placing second on La Folie Gpm and leading the race on Embry and both Montreuil sur Mer tops.

“It’s a really nice result, particularly as it came after a very tough time for me as an athlete. The crash at Milan-Sanremo forced me away from racing for a month, and I have been working so hard… I was getting nervous at the beginning, as I wanted to get back to the best condition right away”, Quintero commented.

Over 100 dealers from Denmark, Norway and Sweden entered the Bianchi event at Giro d'Italia's stage-2 permanence in Herning (Denmark), in a customized Bianchi area, on Sunday, May 6th.

All wearing the Bianchi Vacansoleil-DCM T-shirt, the dealers met the two teams supplied with Bianchi Oltre and taking part at the Giro (Vacansoleil-DCM and Androni Giocattoli) watching the race on a big screen  and having lunch together with Bianchi staff. Some had the exclusive opportunity to visit Vacansoleil-DCM’s team bus.

At last, a Danish dealer was quiz game prize-winner, awarded with a new Vacansoleil-DCM Oltre frame.

Gerhard Kerschbaumer on Bianchi Methanol 29SL was runner up at MTB Alpago Trophy, Internazionali d'Italia round-3, in Lamosano di Chies d'Alpago (North-East Italy) on Sunday, May 6th. Preceded only by élite Marco Aurelio Fontana, TX Active-Bianchi's rider was the best U23 on the finish line and took the leadership of his series in the general classification.

On a course made really demanding by the heavy rain, élite Tony Longo on Bianchi Methanol SL2 placed sixth, performing well above all in the early race. Colombian Leonardo Paez was 12th after a good recovery.

After the success at Italian Team Relay Championships, cadet Giorgio Rossi and rookie Katia Moro on Bianchi Methanol SX won the respective series on Sunday, May 6th. Both cadets Chiara Teocchi and Oscar Vairetti clinched the third position.

Androni Giocattoli's Roberto Ferrari on Bianchi Oltre took fifth at Giro d'Italia's stage-2, 206 km featuring start and arrival in Herning (Denmark) on Sunday, May 6th. Ferrari was the best Italian rider in the bunch sprint. Stage-winner was British Mark Cavendish.

Team Vacansoleil-DCM's Gustav Erik Larsson keep the fifth position in the general classification, thanks to the good performance in the opening ITT on Bianchi Pico Crono Carbon bike.

Team Vacansoleil-DCM's Gustav Erik Larsson on Bianchi Pico Crono Carbon (D|2 family) placed fifth at Giro d'Italia's opening ITT in Herning (Denmark) on Saturday, May 5th.

Swedish rider covered the 8,7 km-course in 10:48, 22 seconds more than the first Giro's leader, American Taylor Phinney.

In the stage-2, scheduled on May 6th and featuring start and arrival in Herning, after 206 km, Team Vacansoleil-DCM will debut on the new Bianchi Oltre special edition.

TX Active-Bianchi's Junior team gave an enchore at Italian Team Relay Championships, keeping the “tricolore” jersey in Lamosano di Chies d'Alpago (North-East Italy) on Saturday, May 5th. Cadets Giorgio Rossi, Oscar Vairetti and Chiara Teocchi and rookie Katia Moro, on saddle of Bianchi Methanol SX bike, took the success after a recovery from the last to the first position. Bianchi's one was the first team to line up two male and as many female riders.

In their round, Teocchi and Moro had the strong job to face male riders and after two laps TX Active-Bianchi reported a 8-minute gap from the race leader. The turning point came when Oscar Vairetti enter the race and rainstorm beat down on the course.

Team's choice to line-up male cadets in last two fractions and to set "rain" tyres was right. Vairetti recovered four minutes, going up to the 4th place. Rossi completed Junior team's masterpiece achieving the first place and clinching a fantastic solo win.

Team TX Active-Bianchi will line-up the full roster at MTB Alpago Trophy, Internazionali d'Italia round-3 on Sunday, May 6th. U23 Gerhard Kerschbaumer on Bianchi Methanol 29SL and Tony Longo, Leonardo Paez and Stephane Tempier on Bianchi Methanol SL2 will all race in Lamosano di Chies d'Alpago (North-East Italy).

After the first two rounds, Kerschbaumer is runner up among U23 thanks the podium in Nalles and the success in the Montichiari. On the podium in the latter race, Tony Longo is fourth among Elites.

Juniors Federico Barri and Cristian Boffelli on Bianchi Methanol SX will be in the action in Veneto region on Sunday, May 6th as well. Rookie Katia Moro and cadets Giorgio Rossi, Oscar Vairetti and Chiara Teocchi will enter the Team Relay Italian Championships wearing their team's uniform on Saturday, May 5th. TX Active-Bianchi is the outgoing champion. The day after Rossi, Vairetti, Teocchi and Moro will run with the Lombardy region's jersey at Coppa Italia round-1, still in Lamosano di Chies d'Alpago.
