The Team Jumbo-Visma Belgian explains his feelings ahead of Tour of Flanders and Paris-Roubaix
Bianchi + Team Road + Product
Tour of Flanders (April 7th) and Paris-Roubaix (April 14th) are quickly approaching and Bianchi-equipped World Tour Team Jumbo-Visma is getting ready to play their best cards in two of the biggest days in the whole calendar. Third placed at Strade Bianche, in the action at Milan-Sanremo and runner-up at E3 BinckBank Classic, Wout Van Aert will be one of Jumbo-Visma’s top options.
“I have learned a lot from last year's Classics, like the necessity to save energies as much as possibile: it is really important in the final hours" Van Aert explains.
Wout Van Aert was a fan of Marco Pantani and following Il Pirata's feats he fell in love with Bianchi: "I had never raced on a Bianchi bike before, but I have liked them all the way. My first memory of Bianchi is Pantani going full-gas on the climbs. I really like Bianchi's philosophy to stay with the iconic celeste color for all these years. It's really cool to be a Bianchi athlete: I'm a fan of the Italian style and Bianchi is Italian style at its best. Good looking and fast bike: this combination is really good for a professional, it gives you an extra strength".
A big reason that convinced Wout Van Aert to choose Team Jumbo-Visma, Bianchi will also give the Belgian an extra boost in improving his time-trial skills: "If you want to be at highest level, you have to train hard and you need high-level bikes. I knew from other riders the quality of the super-fast Aquila CV TT-bike: I need to improve in the TT and with such a World-class bike, I think I'll finally do it"
