Roglic wins Romandie stage 1 and takes GC lead

Equipped with Oltre XR4, the Team Jumbo-Visma Slovenian preceded Gaudu and Costa on May 1st

The defending champion is back in the lead. Team Jumbo Visma's Primoz Roglic topped Tour de Romandie stage 1, 168,4 km from Neuchâtel to La Chaux-de-Fonds (Switzerland) and took the GC lead on Wednesday, May 1st. Winner of the 2018 edition, equipped with Oltre XR4, Roglic outsprinted a 20-man group, result of a stage with five categorized climbs. David Gaudu an Rui Costa had to settle for the lowest podium spots.
Runner-up in the prologue 24 hours before, Roglic leads now the general classification, with a 10-second advantage on Costa and 12 seconds on Gaudu, and the Points Classification (75). Team Jumbo Visma's Steven Kruijswijk is 7th in the GC with a 17-second gap from Roglic.
