The Team Bianchi Countervail celebrated a victory and a podium spot in the Coupe de France VTT round 4's Men Elite cross country race in Méribel (France) on Saturday, August 13th. Stephane Tempier soloed to victory with a 41-second advantage on countryman Titouan Carod, whilst teammate Gerhard Kerschbaumer placed third with a 2:16 gap. Chiara Teocchi was tenth overall among Women and fifth Under 23, 5 minutes and 17 seconds behind the winner, élite Katrin Stirnemann.
Tempier enjoyed his really special win: "I managed to recover well from the World Cup race. It's always a unique pleasure to win in France, here in Méribel, close to my home town. I dedicate this victory to my girlfriend and my team", the Frenchman commented.
Happy day also for Gerhard Kerschbaumer, looking for a positive feedback in a HC race: "In the last few weeks my shape got considerably better. I've always liked Méribel's course, I knew I could perform well here. I risked when I crashed in the penultimate laps, racing for a half lap without the saddle, but fortunately I kept my third position afterwards".
The Team Bianchi Countervail are equipped with brand-new Methanol CV, the first ever mountain bike frame enhanced with Bianchi's exclusive Countervail® vibration-cancelling technology.
