Chiara Teocchi could hardly imagine a better scenario in facing her first Cyclocross World Cup fixture in 2016-2017. Team Bianchi Countervail's rider was capped by Italy national team manager Fausto Scotti to tackle the round 4 in Koksijde on Sunday, November 20th. In Belgium, the rider from Bergamo will wear the Women U23 European champion's jersey conquered three weeks before in Pontchateau (France).
Turning 20 next December 8th, equipped with Bianchi Zolder disc, Teocchi will challenge with the World's strongest riders for the first time in the CX 2016-2017 season, including Elite Women’s World and European champion Thalita De Jong. The Women’s race is set to start at 1.30 pm CET om a 2.890 meter long circuit.
After the triumph at the European Championships, Chiara placed third at Gp Guerciotti in Milan and runner-up at Gp d'Abruzzo Ciclocross, also training hard in view of the World Cup debut. Teocchi's goal is to raise the bar and make a good impression: "Racing with the Elite Women in World Cup rounds will help me to improve. I will give my best to achieve good results and at the same time I will try to focus on the possible rivals for the World Championships, the most important fixture of the season"
