Team Bianchi Countervail's Chiara Teocchi finished 13th in Cyclocross World Championships Under 23 Women's race in Bieles (Luxembourg) on Saturday, January 28th. On a really hard course, with muddy and frozen stretches, the 20-year-old Italian rider equipped with Zolder disc finished the race in 47:18, with a 3:31 gap from the winner, Dutch Annemarie Worst.
The European and Italian champion delivered a good start, taking the lead in the first bend and fighting with the main favourites during the opening lap. Seventh after the first two laps, Teocchi slipped out of the Top 10 in the third and eventually closed thirteenth, as she had in the 2016 rainbow race in Heusden-Zolder.
TEOCCHI: "TIRED AFTER A FULL-GAS SEASON: A LESSON FOR THE FUTURE"
"The Worlds are always a unique race. I felt really tired after a season at full gas: this race will be a useful lesson for the future. Now I'll take a little rest, before starting the MTB season in one month. I can't wait to ride my new revolutionary Methanol CV, meet my new teammate Marco Aurelio Fontana and to train with him and Stephane Tempier" Teocchi commented.
