Both Team Bianchi Countervail's Marco Aurelio Fontana and Chiara Teocchi faced ups and downs in CX World Cup's final round - last rehearsal in view of the Cyclocross World Championships - held in Hoogerheide (Netherlands) on Sunday, January 28th.
As in Namur, Marco Aurelio Fontana finished 31st in the Elite Men's race won by home favorite Mathieu Van der Poel. The Prorider delivered a solid performance, in spite of some troubles in the early race: "The start in the rear position and a puncture in the opening lap had me drop around the 50th position, then I managed to come back to the 31st. It's not a super result, but I keep on working with confidence in view of next big goals".
Chiara Teocchi placed 36th in Elite Women's race. Team Bianchi Countervail's 21-year-old rider rode fast in the early race, before crashing and losing several positions as a consequence, closing 4 minutes and 26 second behind winner Sanne Cant. "My start was good, but unfortunately I crashed and I slipped back, maybe also giving up a bit from a mental side. Let’s move forward to the World Championships, where I will try to go for a prestigious result".
Bianchi supplies the team with two high end carbon models with racing geometry: the revolutionary Methanol CV and Methanol 29.1 FS (full suspension). The Junior Team is equipped with Methanol 29 SX model. Team Bianchi Countervail also ride Zolder disc in the cyclo-cross season.
