Team LottoNL-Jumbo's Danny Van Poppel grazed victory at 33rd Clasica de Almeria, 185,1 km one-day race from Almeria to Roquetas de Mar (Spain), on Sunday, February 11th. The 24-year-old from Utrecht sprinted for the victory shoulder to shoulder with winner Caleb Ewan, placing second in 4:35:28. Timothy Dupont rounded out the podium.
 
Van Poppel went on the podium for the third time in the last two weeks in Spain. The Dutchman had won Volta a la Comunitat Valenciana's opening stage in Peñiscola on January 31st, then placing second in the fifth and final stage in Valencia on February 4th.
