Chiara Teocchi placed seventh with Methanol CV in XCO World Cup's opener in Stellenbosch (South Africa) on Saturday, March 10th. In the early morning, Team Bianchi Countervail's 21-year-old Italian completed the Women's Under 23 race in 1:22:08, with a 3:16 gap from the winner Malene Degn. Stephane Tempier finished 15th in Men's Elite race, with Marco Aurelio Fontana 31st and Nadir Colledani 53rd.
"I can be pretty happy with my performance and result. My start wasn't that good but I managed to perform better in the second half of the race, recovering several positions. I'm going to work hard in view of the next World Cup's round to further improve both my technique and resistance", Teocchi commented.
After a difficult start, Stephane Tempier acted a steady recovery closing 15th, three minutes and 25 seconds behind the winner Samuel Gaze. Marco Aurelio Fontana was 31st with a 4:43 gap, Nadir Colledani 53rd with a 7:49 gap in his World Cup's debut among élites. “I aimed for a better result, of course, but the health problems I suffered last week affected my performance and actually I can’t say to have my best shape. Anyway, this result will be my lanching pad in view of next May's World Cup rounds”, Tempier explained.
Bianchi supplies the team with two high end carbon models with racing geometry: the revolutionary Methanol CV and Methanol 29.1 FS (full suspension). The Junior Team is equipped with Methanol 29 SX model.
