Team LottoNL-Jumbo's Slovenian rode Oltre XR4 to success in Laruns ahead of Thomas and Bardet
Bianchi + Team Road + Product
Primoz Roglic gave Bianchi and Team LottoNL-Jumbo's the third success in 2018 Tour de France, riding Oltre XR4 to top the stage 19, 200,5 km from Lourdes to Laruns (France) on Friday, July 27th. The Slovenian soloed to win with a 19-second advantage on the GC leader Geraint Thomas and Romain Bardet. Roglic moved on the virtual GC podium, overtaking Christopher Froome: the Slovenian is currently third with a 2:24 gap from Thomas and only 19-seconds behind Tom Dumoulin.

On the 20th anniversary of Marco Pantani's triumph at Les Deux Alpes with a Bianchi bike, Roglic was the real master of the race, trying several times to outdistance his rivals on the Aubisque and the Col des Bordéres, counting on teammates Robert Gesink and Steven Krujswijk, until the decisive move in the downhill to Laruns. Roglic rode a personal, outstanding TT, expoiting every bit of the aero advantage secured by his Bianchi Oltre XR4 to gain precious seconds on the GC rivals. Team LottoNL-Jumbo could celebrate the third victory at 2018 Tour de France after Dylan Groenewegen's winning sprints in Chartres and Amiens Métropole.

In 2017, Roglic had made a name for himself by becoming the first Slovenian ever to succeed in a Tour de France stage. At this year’s Grande Boucle, the frame of Roglic's Oltre XR4 has been customized with an eagle flying over the Col du Galibier, right where last year he “flew away” from his breakaway companions to claim a memorable solo win in Tour de France stage 17. Instead, the top tube shows a little icon with the “telemark move”, Roglic’s trademark podium celebration, inspired to his past career as professional ski jumper.

On Saturday July 28th, Roglic will try to gain further positions in the GC in the 31 km ITT with start in Saint-Pée-sur-Nivelle and finish in Espelette, before the traditional catwalk in Paris on Sunday. Roglic is currently time trial vice-World Champion.
