L’Eroica’s magic happened again in 2017: over seven thousand enthusiasts from 58 Countries took part on Sunday, October 1st in the renowned historical cycling race in Gaiole in Chianti (Siena, Italy). Bianchi – global partner of the event – starred in the party with its history and charm.

The Bianchi’s very crowded booth was a reference point for the three days of festival, from Friday to Sunday. Visitors had the opportunity to meet Bianchi L’Eroica, the special bike officially certified by the L'Eroica commission, and to enter in the Gaiole in Chianti’s vintage mood by getting sweatshirts, polo shirts and t-shirts of the new clothing collection Bianchi L’Eroica.

From past to future, the enthusiasts’ attention was also drawn to the latest high-end models of the Treviglio’s company, showcased at the Expo Area: Oltre XR4, Specialissima, Infinito CV and the new “Bianchi for Scuderia Ferrari” SF01, the high-performance bike that celebrates the start of the collaboration between the two noteworthy Italian brands.

The highlight of the event was Sunday’s “ciclostorica”, which reiterated the unique and unbreakable bond between Bianchi and the history of cycling. In the large group of “heroes” stretched out at the dawn on the famous “strade bianche” – the unpaved country roads in Tuscany –, in fact, plenty of Celeste “spots” could be noticed: they were the Bianchi-branded vintage – or historically inspired – bikes and gears which made the history of this sport.

Also the Bianchi-Campagnolo’s Celeste team car from the early Seventies hold the stage and was one of the most photographed vintage objects, and at the start all the eyes were on Felice Gimondi, the unforgettable Bianchi icon, now President of Team Bianchi Countervail. Gimondi, recently turned 75, tested himself in the shortest among the five courses in the Chianti region, though an inconvenience in the last kilometers prevented him from concluding the race.
