Wout Van Aert finished second in Critérium du Dauphiné stage 3, 177 km from Le Puy-en-Velay to Riom (Francia) on Tuesday, June 11th. The Team Jumbo-Visma Belgian rode Oltre XR4 once again to graze a mass sprint win, in the wake of Irish Sam Bennett and ahead of Italian Davide Ballerini.
Third placed in Dauphiné opener, Van Aert strengthened his lead in the Youth Classification: the 24-year-old rider from Herentals can now boast a 9-second advantage on Bjorg Lambrecht and Odd Christian Eiking.
Meanwhile, Van Aert was included in Team Jumbo-Visma’s line-up to enter next Tour de France starting on July 6th: the Belgian will take in the Grande Boucle for the first time ever.
Wout Van Aert is equipped with Bianchi Oltre XR4. Engineered with the Bianchi CV system powered by Countervail, developed and tested in cooperation with World Tour Team Jumbo-Visma, Oltre XR4 is designed to maximize the aerodynamic advantage and control.
