All the Italian riders of Team Bianchi Countervail will line-up for the Italian Cyclocross Championships in Rome on Saturday, January 6th. Marco Aurelio Fontana, Nadir Colledani and Chiara Teocchi are warming up to ride their Zolder disc on the renowned Capannelle Hippodrome's course. Fontana and Colledani will compete for the Elite Men’s title, whilst Teocchi will look to defend her Under 23 crown.
FONTANA: "I WANT THE TRICOLORE JERSEY "
After finishing the 2017 with the success at the Cross della Vigilia in Lurago d'Erba, Marco Aurelio Fontana aims high in new year's Tricolore event. The Prorider has a long history with the Italian Cyclocross Championships, as he won the jersey no less than eight times (including once among Under 23), most recently in 2015. "I want to fight for the Italian title on Rome's course, like I did last year in Silvelle. I'm satisfied with the winter's results, but the 2018 has just begun and the whole team aims to feature a great start and to ride a great season" Fontana says.
COLLEDANI: "I DID A GOOD WORK AND I LIKE THE COURSE"
Nadir Colledani has started his experience in the Elite series with Team Bianchi in the CX season, collecting some good displays. "I'm self-confident and motivated in view of the Tricolore race: I did a good work last month. My shape isn’t the best ever, but I usually do pretty good on this course, so I am looking to give everything I can" Colledani commented.
TEOCCHI: "READY TO RIDE FOR ANOTHER TRICOLORE WIN"
Reigning Champion among Under 23 Women, Chiara Teocchi will look to secure another Italian title in Rome. The 22-year-old rider from Bergamo started the season winning the Giro d'Italia Ciclocross' round in Ferentino and conquering her second Women's Under 23 European Championship in Tabor. "The Italian championship is one of my seasonal goal and I'll try to give an encore after the 2017 win in Silvelle. I know the course well enough, as well as my strongest rivals Francesca Baroni, Silvia Persico and Rebecca Gariboldi: I'm ready" Teocchi's words.
Bianchi supplies the team with two high end carbon models with racing geometry: the revolutionary Methanol CV and Methanol 29.1 FS (full suspension). The Junior Team is equipped with Methanol 29 SX model. Team Bianchi Countervail also ride Zolder disc in the cyclo-cross season.
