Team LottoNL-Jumbo's Slovenian sprinted for the success with French Alaphilippe in Zarautz

Team LottoNL-Jumbo was in the spotlights in Itzulia Basque Country's opener. Slovenian Primoz Roglic placed second in the opening stage, 162,1 km with start and finish in Zarautz (Spain) on Monday, April 2nd. Equipped with Oltre XR4, the 28-year-old rider from Trbovlje played a key role in escape alighted on the final climb, eventually sprinting for the success with French Julian Alaphilippe, first leader of the Spanish stage-race. Iberian Pello Bilbao was third with a 23-second gap.
Roglic stepped up the podium for the second time in 2018, after the brilliant success in Tirreno-Adriatico’s stage 3 from Follonica to Trevi (Italy).
