Bianchi and Team LottoNL-Jumbo celebrate in France. Juan José Lobato claimed a sprint win on Wednesday, August 9th in Tour de l’Ain stage 1, a 141,1 km ride from Polliat to Trévoux. The 28-year-old Spaniard, on his Bianchi Oltre XR4, was the fastest in the bunch sprint, crossing the finish line comfortably ahead of Frenchmen Nacer Bouhanni (Cofidis) and Steven Tronet (Equipe Cycliste Armée de Terre). Thanks to the 10-second time bonus, the Team LottoNL-Jumbo sprinter - who had finished 5th in Tuesday’s ITT prologue, just 4 seconds off the winner Johan Le Bon - moved atop the general classification with a 6-second advantage on Le Bon and Bouhanni. Lobato also scored his first seasonal win, and his first in a Team LottoNL-Jumbo jersey.

The Team LottoNL-Jumbo Dutch sprinter, powered by Bianchi Oltre XR4, finished 4th in the bunch sprint dominated by World Champion Peter Sagan (Bora-Hansgrohe). With four stages to go, Lars Boom is currently Team LottoNL-Jumbo’s best placed rider in the GC: 6th, 10 seconds behind leader Stefan Küng (BMC).
