Everything is ready for the sixth and final stage of the 2017 World Cup in Val di Sole (Italy). Team Bianchi Countervail dreams big with Stephane Tempier determined to defend – and possibly improve – his overall third place, and Marco Aurelio Fontana and Chiara Teocchi focused on delivering brilliant performances in front of their fans.

TEMPIER: “MY GOAL IS TO DEFEND THE THIRD SPOT”
Tempier and Fontana will take part in the Men’s Elite race, scheduled for Sunday, August 27th, at 2.45 pm. The rider from Gap will hunt for another remarkable result after equalling his World Cup’s career highlight in Mont-Sainte-Anne (Canada) with a thrilling second place. “I feel very well, my legs are good after a week of hard training – Tempier says –. The second place in the Coupe de France, last Sunday, gave me additional confidence. I’m ready to take part in Val di Sole race, that feels so special to me and my team”.

The Frenchman sits third in the overall standings – already conquered by Swiss Nino Schurter with one race to go – with 650 points, 50 down on his fellow countryman Maxime Marotte and 13 ahead of Spaniard David Valero. “My main goal is to defend the third spot – Tempier continues – and it will take a great performance to achieve it. The second place? Marotte looks very strong and consistent, he has never finished outside the top-7 so far. But nothing is decided yet”. The Bianchi MTB is hoping to step on the overall podium for the first time in the Elite category since 2006, when Julien Absalon claimed the World Cup title.

FONTANA: “I WILL GIVE MY BEST FOR MY FANS”
Fontana opted for Bianchi Methanol 29.1 FS and hopes to close the challenge on a high in view of the upcoming World Championship in Cairns (Australia): “I enjoy the track very much – the Prorider explained –. It’s faster than two years ago and it suits my skills very well. I’m looking forward to giving my best in front of my fans”.

TEOCCHI: “ANOTHER TOP-10 FINISH WOULD BE GREAT”
Back from the eighth place in Mont-Sainte-Anne, Teocchi wants to continue her solid stretch in the Women’s Under 23 race starting at 8.30 am. “I will try my best to claim a good result – says the Italian Under 23 Champion, who will compete in Val di Sole with his Methanol CV –. Another top-10 finish would be great”.

GHIROTTO: “STAKES ARE HIGH”
Team Bianchi Countervail’s Team Manager Massimo Ghirotto looks confident ahead of the great event: “We will race in our home country: the stakes are high, the tension is rising. Stephane is in great shape, he has been training for months to fulfill his dream”.
