Team LottoNL-Jumbo placed third in the Hammer Stavanger's opening stage, the Hammer Climb, held in Sandness (Norway) on Friday, May 25th. Equipped with Oltre XR4 Lars Boom, Pascal Eenkhoorn, Tom Leezer, Bram Tankink and Antwan Tolhoek scored 623,5 points in the innovative race won by Mitchelton-Scott ahead of Team Sunweb.
The 80,5 km race was held on a 8,48-km course with two climbs - an 800-meter kick (6,8%) and a 1000m ascent to the finish (5,8%)- to be repeated 9,5 times. Every lap the first ten riders on the finish line earned points from 100 to 15; the third, sixth and last lap offered double points. Team LottoNL-Jumbo's youngster Antwan Tolhoek was one of the most brilliant riders of the race.
The Day-2 features the ‘Hammer Sprint’, with the fast wheels of the bunch ready to challenge on a 9,2 km course to be covered ten times.
