Van Emden rides Aquila CV to 2nd in Dauphiné prologue

The Dutchman finished the stage in Valence (Francia) with a one-second gap from Kwiatkowski

Jos Van Emden (Team LottoNL-Jumbo) went one-second close to victory in Critérium du Dauphiné's prologue, 6,6 km with start and finish in Valence (France) on Sunday, June 3rd. The Dutchman rode his special Bianchi Aquila CV - featuring the exclusive "celeste" CK16 coloration and hand-painted in Italy by Bianchi's expert craftsmen - to the second position clocking 7:26. Michal Kwiatkowski topped the stage (7:25), whilst Gianni Moscon (7:28) rounded out the podium. Team LottoNL-Jumbo entered the Top 20 with Lars Boom and Nelson Powless as well.
 
This year Van Emden had already been runner-up in Tirreno-Adriatico's final stage, a 10 km ITT in San Benedetto del Tronto (Italy) on March 13th, and also placed fourth with Aquila CV in Giro d'Italia's stage 16 in Rovereto (Italy).
