Primoz Roglic was not short of special moments over a memorable 2018 season, in which he brought home the Volta a Catalunya, Tour of Romandie and Tour of Slovenia title, as well as one stage and the overall fourth place at the Tour de France. Nevertheless, there was still space for another special day in the LottoNL-Jumbo’s Slovenian breakout year.

“Finally I could seize the chance and fulfill the dream of visiting the Bianchi factory, something I had wanted to do for a long time” Roglic said, “and finally I seized the opportunity to fulfill this dream.”

On Thursday November 8th, Primoz Roglic - joined by his girlfriend Lora - started his special day in Milan, with a lunch at the Bianchi Cafè & Cycles in Milan: “Bianchi is not only innovation. It is a lifestyle and you can tell in every detail: their beautiful bikes, the iconic Celeste color, and that Italian style that really define Bianchi’s popularity all over the World”.

In the afternoon, the 28-year-old Slovenian finally stepped in the Bianchi Factory in Treviglio, and enjoyed a special welcoming from the whole Bianchi family. A moment of celebration of Primoz’s season was held, with a cake and toast to remember the Slovenian’s feat over the year, and his contribution to highlighting the Bianchi brand on the greatest stages.

There was also a special treat waiting for him, and for Lora in first place: in Treviglio, the couple collected the special Oltre XR4 customized by Primoz for Lora with the Tavolozza tailor-made program: pink with Celeste details.

Taken around for a factory visit, Roglic appreciated the extent of Bianchi’s frame design, as well as the technology expressed by Bianchi in the bike industry, starting from the composite materials. The Slovenian has also been charmed by the historical items of the Bianchi museum - from 1885 to today, passing through Coppi, Gimondi, Pantani and today's champions like Roglic himself.

“You might think that pro riders won’t get impressed by something like this, but indeed - we do,” Roglic said. “Bianchi has been a leading brand for over 130 years, and that says a lot about how special this company is. And this is because it doesn’t lay back on its inimitable history and heritage, but you can always feel a crave for innovation that has kept them on the cutting edge in every era.”
