Enrico Battaglin gave Bianchi and Team LottoNL-Jumbo the first podium placement at the 101st Giro d'Italia, closing third in the 202 km stage 4 from Catania to Caltagirone (Sicily, Italy) on Tuesday, May 8th. The 28-year-old Italian crossed the finish line in the wake of Belgian Tim Wellens and Canadian Michael Woods, thanks A brilliant performance in the short but demanding uphill finish. Equipped with Bianchi Oltre XR4, Battaglin was one of the first riders to throw down the gauntlet, bravely kicking out and pushing hard until the last meters.
A solid stage hunter, tackling the Giro for the seventh time, Enrico Battaglin started the 101st Pink Race with two goals: riding Oltre XR4 to a stage win, both in breakaways and counting on his late kick, and playing once again a key role in support of Team LottoNL-Jumbo’s leaders.
Bianchi supplies the Team LottoNL-Jumbo with four models engineered with the Bianchi CV system:
  • Oltre XR4, designed to maximize the aerodynamic advantage and control
  • Specialissima, the ultralight frame, perfect for GC riders, it’s extra stiff for increased traction and stability at high speeds, and maximum control on the descents
  • Aquila CV, the ultimate time trial machine, designed to increase power output and rider's energy, with maximum control with each pedal stroke
  • Infinito CV, the ideal bike for the Classics, providing remarkable control on uneven surfaces and reducing muscular fatigue
