Team Bianchi Countervail’s bikers will race twice in XCO World Cup round 2 in Albstadt. Among the 40 riders in the startlist, Nadir Colledani, Marco Aurelio Fontana and Stephane Tempier will be in the action in the Short Track Men race on May 18th since 6.15 pm. Bianchi house’s trio will then enter the XCO Men’s Elite race on Sunday, May 20th at 2.35 pm. A few hours earlier, at 9.30 am, the Women’s Under 23 Italian champion Chiara Teocchi will participate to the XCO race. Team Bianchi Countervail’s riders will be all equipped with Methanol CV.
“We are going to compete in one of my favourite courses: I took my maiden World Cup win in Albstadt last year, in the Under 23 series. I’m really confident, but knock on wood: I won’t disclose my goal. I’ll go with Methanol CV”, Colledani said. Team Bianchi Countervail’s new entry comes from the second seasonal win in Kamnik (Slovenia). Stephane Tempier will choose the same bike “to tackle a not very technical course featuring two interesting climbs. Rain and mud will make it slippery. I’m in a good shape, aiming for a good performance and a podium spot. To do this, I have to finish among the Top 16 in the short track race to achieve a good position in the XCO race’s grid”.
"We are ready to face the first World Cup short track race, with the goal of improving our starting grid as well as bagging some valuable GC points. I'm sure Sunday's will be a close race, I'll try to improve my South Africa's display and move back in the battle for the positions I like" Marco Fontana explains.
Chiara Teocchi focuses on the XCO race: “I trained well and Albstadt’s race is one of my favourite World Cup’s rounds. I like the course, fits to me. I hope everything will be ok, I’m ready to do my best for soring a positive result”.
Bianchi supplies the team with two high end carbon models with racing geometry: the revolutionary Methanol CV and Methanol 29.1 FS (full suspension).
