Val di Sole’s World Cup stage is not just any race for Stephane Tempier and Nadir Colledani of Team Bianchi Countervail. It could not be any other way after the excellent performances of 2017: the 32-year-old Frenchman gave to the team chaired by Felice Gimondi a beautiful second place after an exciting head-to-head with Nino Schurter, whilst the Italian youngster won the U23 race.

Tempier and Colledani will represent the Team Bianchi Countervail in Val di Sole, in UCI Mountain Bike World Cup stage 4, from Friday July 6th to Sunday 8th, along with fellow teammates Marco Aurelio Fontana and Chiara Teocchi, under the guidance of Massimo Ghirotto.

Last year in Val di Sole, I rode one of the best races of my career – Tempier said. – I like Val di Sole’s course, it’s very tough and characterized by two difficult climbs. In the last month I have mainly focused on training, taking in only the Internazionali d’Italia race in Chies d’Alpago: I’m ready, and aiming at a podium spot with Methanol CV”.

If I think back to the 2017 race, I sense the emotion of those moments – Colledani explained. – “I come back in Val di Sole confident of holding my own in the Elite category. The condition is very good, I hope to start well in the Short Track race to gain positions in the starting grid in view of  Sunday’s XCO.

On Friday, Tempier, Fontana and Colledani, the latter in the spotlight in Internazionali d’Italia Series’ final round in Chies d’Alpago with a beautiful second place, will be in the action in the Men’s Short Track race at 6.15 pm CET. On Sunday, the Bianchi trio will take part in the XCO Men’s Elite race at 2.50 pm CET.

On Sunday, at 8.30 am, Chiara Teocchi will participate to the Women’s XCO U23 race: the Italian youngster occupies the fifth overall place so far.

We want to shine in World Cup’s home round - Team Manager Massimo Ghirotto said. – Last year, Tempier was second after a thrilling duel with Schurter. We know Fontana, he is an experienced rider, whilst youngsters Colledani and Teocchi have showed a good condition”.

Bianchi supplies the team with two high end carbon models with racing geometry: the revolutionary Methanol CV and Methanol 29.1 FS (full suspension).
