Team Jumbo-Visma's Belgian rode Oltre XR4 to third in the World Tour race held in Siena on March 9th

Team Jumbo-Visma's Wout Van Aert placed third at Strade Bianche, 184 km World Tour race with start and finish in Siena (Italy) on Saturday, March 9th. Officially become a Team Jumbo-Visma’s rider only nine days ago, the Belgian completed his effort with Oltre XR4 in 4:47:41, 27 seconds behind Julian Alaphilippe and 25 behind Jakob Fugslang.
The 24-year-old rider from Herentals was part of the attacking trio with Julian Alaphilippe and Jakob Fuglsang on the Monte Sante Marie climb, then was called to a long solo ride on Tuscany's gravel tracks, before moving back to the leading duo with one kilometer to go. Van Aert run then out of fuel and he had to settle for the third position on Santa Caterina final slopes.
