In the wake of an early season steadily raced at the highest level (13 wins and 26 podium spots so far), World Tour Team Jumbo-Visma and Bianchi will line-up with confidence at the Giro d'Italia start in Bologna (Italy) on Saturday, May 11th. The Team Jumbo-Visma riders look for a front-page race since the stage 1, an ITT with uphill finish at San Luca's Sanctuary. Powered by Aquila CV, Bianchi's time trial machine engineered with the Bianchi CV system, Primoz Roglic aims high in the 8-km stage against the clock.
LINE-UP AND GOALS
Winner of three World Tour stage-races (UAE Tour, Tirreno-Adriatico and Giro di Romandia), with 8 victories in total so far in 2019 (including two ITT races), Primoz Roglic starts the Giro with the leader’s grades, aiming for one of the highest GC spots. The multi-skilled Slovenian can brillianty perform both in the three time trial stages and on the mountains. The fourth position at the 2018 Tour de France, ahead of teammate Steven Kruijswijk, gives more strength to the Slovenian's ambitions. A mixture of experience and vigorous youth, this is Team Jumbo-Visma's eight-man line-up for the Giro d’Italia: Primoz Roglic (Slovenia), Sepp Kuss (US), Koen Bouwman (Netherlands), Laurens De Plus (Belgium), Jos van Emden (Netherlands), Paul Martens (Germany), Tom Leezer (Netherlands) and Antwan Tolhoek (Netherlands).
