Groenewegen 3rd in Tour de France stage 16 in Nîmes


After the demanding Pyrenées stages and a deserved rest day, Bianchi and Team Jumbo-Visma gave another good display at Tour de France. Winner of stage 7 in Chalon-sur-Saône, Dylan Groenewegen placed third in the stage 16, 177 km with start and finish in Nîmes (France) on Tuesday, July 23rd. The Dutchman tried to comeback in the final meters, getting to the finish line behind Elia Viviani and Caleb Ewan.

In Nîmes Team Jumbo Visma claimed the ninth podium at 106th Tour de France, including the victories scored by Mike Teunissen, the whole Team Jumbo-Visma in the TTT, Dylan Groenewegen himself and Wout Van Aert. Groenewegen had also placed second in the stage 11 in Toulouse.

Moreover Steven Kruijswijk, third placed in the GC, looks with confidence to the Alps’ stage.
