Chiara Teocchi placed eleventh in the UCI MTB World Cup round 5 Women's Under 23 race in Vallnord (Andorra) on Sunday, July 15th. After the unlucky race in Val di Sole, Team Bianchi Countervail's 21-year-old Italian rode her Methanol CV a few seconds away from the Top-10, with a 6:05 gap from the winner, Sina Frei.
The result scored in Andorra gives Teocchi a boost of confidence. "I'm reasonably satisfied with my result. It's a pity I lost a top 10 placement for a fistful of seconds, but at the same time I'm really happy I could to race and ride pretty fast here. It wasn't an easy week for me, I suffered the pains caused by last Sunday's crash, but I managed to focus on the race and to deliever a good performance. Now I look forward to the Italian Championships in Pila, where I'll race in the Women's Elite Series: I'll try to look for further energies to pursue this new goal".
ELITE: COLLEDANI GRAZES TOP-20
Team Bianchi Countervail's athletes didn't manage to fight for the top positions in Men's Elite race. Nadir Colledani got to the finish line with a 5:24 gap from the winner, placing 21st. Stephane Tempier was 28th (+6:00), Marco Aurelio Fontana 38th (+7:35).
Fontana had done better in the Short Track race on July 13th, closing twelfth with a 18-second gap from the leader Henrique Avancini.
