Antwan Tolhoek (Team LottoNL-Jumbo) finished second at Japan Cup, 144-km late season’s event with start and finish in Utsunomiya (Japan) on Sunday, October 21st. Fourth-placed last year, the 23-year-old rider renewed his feeling the Japan Cup’s roads, riding Oltre XR4 to sprint for the success in a two-man rush with Australian Robert Power, who won the race clocking 3:44:00. Another Team LottoNL-Jumbo’s rider equipped by Bianchi, Robert Gesink, finished seventh with a 2:07 gap.
The Dutch Team’s roster included Oliver Daan, Maarten Wynants, Lars Boom and Koen Bouwman. The latter rode a special edition of the Oltre XR4 - with handpainted custom graphics dedicated to Japan (the date 1885 - year of Bianchi's foundation - written in Japanese, the Mount Fuji, the Japanese flag), prepared on the occasion by Bianchi in its lab based in Treviglio - to a long breakaway, winning the KOM jersey.
