The Team Jumbo-Visma Slovenian moved up to GC second again, behind new leader Quintana

Team Jumbo-Visma’s Primoz Roglic placed third in 74th Vuelta a España stage 9, 94,4 km from Andorra la Vella to Cortals d’Encamp (Andorra) on Sunday, September 1st. With a strong recovery in the final kilometers, in a racing day marked by early-winter-like weather, Roglic finished the stage with a 48-second gap from the winner Tadej Pogacar and 25 seconds behind Nairo Quintana, with Alejandro Valverde in his wake.

Thanks to his third podium spot in nine stages – after the 3rd place in Calpe and runner-up in Mas de la Costa – Roglic went up again to GC second, with a 6-second gap from the new leader Quintana. The Slovenian will attack the GC lead in Pau’s ITT to be held on Monday, September 2nd.

Primoz Roglic is equipped with Oltre XR4, Bianchi’s ultimate aero road racing machine. Engineered with the Bianchi CV system powered by Countervail, developed and tested in cooperation with World Tour Team Jumbo-Visma, Oltre XR4 is designed to maximize the aerodynamic advantage and control.
