Bianchi's celeste stood-out in Gimondibike's 17th edition: as last year, Stephane Tempier triumphed in the race dedicated to Team Bianchi Countervail's President Felice Gimondi, held in Iseo (Northern Italy) on Sunday, September 24th. The 31-year-old rider from Gap rode Methanol CV to win in 1:27:08, with a 4-second advantage on Fabian Rabensteiner and 56 seconds on Michele Casagrande. Team Bianchi Countervail's Marco Aurelio Fontana's finished second with a 3:28 gap from Tempier.

Aiming for a podium spot, Women's Under 23 Chiara Teocchi was second overall in the female race in 1:45:51, 45 seconds behind the winner Maria Cristina Nisi, fighting for the success until the last climb. Lisa Rabensteiner rounded-out the podium.

TEMPIER: "I WANTED THIS WIN, THE FINAL DOWNHILL WAS DECISIVE"
In a season sprinkled with prestigious international displays, Tempier celebrates his second victory after the one at Gaerne MTB Trophy. "I really wanted to give encore at Gimondike, our President's race, to finish in style an unforgettable season. It wasn't a foregone result, because I had a terrible cold in the morning, but I managed to find the energies and the motivation to win. After the first descent there was a three-man leading group, then I attacked on the last climb and run full ahead in the final descent, outdistancing Rabensteiner with a two kilometer to the finish post" Tempier commented.

GIMONDI PRAISES HIS TEAM: "AN EXCITING SEASON"
Team Bianchi Countervail's Felice Gimondi congratulated his team for the icing on the cake in a year fulfilled with satisfactions: "We claimed important results through the whole season, from Marco Aurelio Fontana's win at Internazionali d'Italia to Chiara Teocchi's victories at Italian Championships, up to Stephane Tempier's strong performances in the XCO World Cup. Congratulations to the riders and the staff".
