Colledani claims win and leader's jersey in Lanzarote

Team Bianchi Countervail's Italian topped the uphill ITT, taking the GC lead with one stage to go. Chiara Teocchi fifth among Women

Nadir Colledani rode Methanol CV to win 4 Stage MTB Race Lanzarote's stage-3, a 21-km uphill ITT held in Lanzarote, Canary Islands on Monday, January 28th. Team Bianchi Countervail's Italian was the strongest on the Spanish slopes, clocking 51:18, eight seconds faster than the former leader, Polish Bartlomiej Wawak, and 43 seconds than German Ben Zwiehoff.
 
Colledani is now leading the GC with a two-seconds advantage on Wawak. The Italian will try to hold his leader's jersey in 4 Stage MTB Race Lanzarote's final and demanding day, on a 81-km course, with start at 9.00 on Tuesday, January 29th. “I'm really happy with this success, it won't be easy to keep the lead but I can race serene and manage my advantage. I feel fine, so I know I can do it”, Colledani explained.
 
Chiara Teocchi completed the race in 1:07:05, finishing fifth in the Women’s stage-3, topped  by Slovenian Blaza Pintaric as the previous ones. The Women's race will also finish on January 29th.
