Specialissima and Yates ignite the Giro d’Italia

The Team BikeExchange leader and the Bianchi all-rounder are standout protagonists on the toughest climbs of the Giro d’Italia, conquering the Alpe di Mera stage after shining on Monte Zoncolan and Sega di Ala

After the impressive victory at the Tour of the Alps, Simon Yates and Specialissima are confirming to be a winning match at the Giro d’Italia. The Brit BikeExchange leader showed the top-performance skills of the new Specialissima on the most challenging climbs of the 2021 Corsa Rosa. Yates ignited the climbs on the “Kaiser” Monte Zoncolan and danced on the pedals at Sega di Ala. On Friday, May 28th, 2021, the Briton marked the first Grand Tour victory of the new Specialissima at the Alpe di Mera, distancing all his rivals.

Totally re-engineered by Bianchi with the all-rounder in mind, the Specialissima carbon disc frame weights just 750g (painted, size 55), but it’s also superbly stiff, providing excellent transfer of that power to the road. Bianchi CV vibration cancelling system amplifies the ride feel, erasing imperfections and enhancing control when the road goes downhill. The Specialissima is designed for UCI WorldTour professionals to be a complete racing bike.

Bearing a name that has become iconic, Specialissima is a pure racing machine with enhanced climbing, improved stopping power courtesy of disc brakes and smoother aerodynamic performance.

For those aero improvements, Bianchi employed innovations devised for the prolific Oltre aero platform, with better integration (internal cable routing, integrated seatpost and cockpit), sharper lines and aero-shaped tubes, massive enhancing the riding experience.
