Tempier 12th in Vallnord’s World Cup round

Colledani finished 16th in Men’s Elite race, while Teocchi was 21st among Women Elite

Team Bianchi Countervail’s Stephane Tempier placed 12th in XCO World Cup round 3 in Vallnord (Andorra) on Sunday, July 7th. The Frenchman from Gap fought for a Top-10 spot in Men’s Elite race, by finishing 1:37 behind the winner Nino Schurter and a few seconds behind the tenth-placed Ondrej Cink.

Team Bianchi Countervail’s Nadir Colledani also delivered a solid performance in the same event, closing 16th with a 2:00 gap. Both Tempier and Colledani raced with Methanol 29 FS.

Chiara Teocchi re-affirmed her skills – already outlined by Nove Mesto na Morave’s round – in the Women’s Elite XCO race, riding Methanol 29 FS to graze her personal best and closing 21st, 4:27 behind the race winner Anne Terpstra. Teocchi had previously scored the team’s best display in the XCC event held on Friday evening, finishing eleventh. Colledani had settled for 15th in Men’s Elite XCC race, with Tempier 21st.

Thanks to the positive displays in Andorra, Tempier and Colledani went up to 18th and 21st overall respectively – the Frenchamn with 273 points, the Italian with 250, whilst Teocchi is now 28th with 210.

“The guys are giving 101 per cent in an important period of the racing season. There is still much to be done, but today they fought like lions with personality and determination” Team Bianchi Countervail’s Massimo Ghirotto commented.
