Teunissen claims ZLM Tour
Team Jumbo-Visma’s Mike Teunussen took the overall win at ZLM Tour, stage-race held in the Netherlands. The 26-year-old rider from Ysselsteyn retained the GC lead in the final stage, 170,1 km from Eindhoven to Tilburg, on Sunday, June 23rd. Winner of the stage 4, Amund Grøndahl Jansen (Team Jumbo-Visma) finished second overall with a 14-second delay from his teammate. Two seconds slower than Jansen, Mads Wurz Schmidt completed the podium. Teunissen’s steady performances -twice runner-up, third in stage 2 – was the key of success.
On Tilsburg’s finish line, Dylan Groenewegen placed third defending his lead in the Points Classification from the attack of the stage-winner Caleb Ewan.
Previously Team Jumbo-Visma had placed three riders on the prologue’s podium (Van Emden, Teunissen, Martin), before winning stage 2 and 3 with Dylan Groenewegen and stage 4 with Jansen.
