Team LottoNL-Jumbo Spaniard in the mix in the final dash to Tarragona with his Bianchi Oltre XR4, on Tuesday August 22nd
Bianchi + Team Road + Product
Juan José Lobato rode his Bianchi Oltre XR4 to the second place on stage 4 of the Vuelta a Espana, a 198,2 km ride from Escaldes-Engordany (Andorra) to Tarragona (Spain), on Tuesday, August 22nd. Italian Matteo Trentin (Quick-Step Floors) claimed the sprint victory, while Belgian Tom Van Asbroeck (Cannondale-Drapac) rounded out the podium.
It was one of the few chances for sprinters at the 2017 Vuelta a Espana. The Team LottoNL-Jumbo Spaniard made his best to come back from the middle of the bunch in the last kilometre and move to the front after a series of insidious bends in a chaotic finale. Lobato kicked out early on his Oltre XR4, Bianchi’s ultimate aero road race machine, to earn a prestigious podium spot in one of the World’s biggest three-week race, overcome by Trentin right in the very last metres. For the 28-year-old Spaniard, fresh stage winner at Tour de l’Ain, it was the third top-3 finish of his season.
