Dylan Groenewegen closed with a brilliant result his 2017 season by grazing another World Tour victory in China, on Tuesday, October 24th. The Team LottoNL-Jumbo’s Dutchman ended up third on Tour of Guangxi’s last stage – 168,1 km around the city of Guilin – after a close bunch sprint. Colombian Fernando Gaviria took the win ahead of Italian Niccolò Bonifazio, whilst the overall victory went to Belgian Tim Wellens.

Once again the Dutch squad did a great teamwork to protect Groenewegen during the whole day. In the final rush to the line, the winner of the previous stage claimed the 8th World Tour podium of 2017 with Oltre XR4, Bianchi’s ultimate aero road race machine. The 24-year-old sprinter thus closed his season with a score of eight wins, including the prestigious success on the Champs-Élysées for 2017 Tour de France’s final stage.
