FONTANA: "THE WORLDS ARE EXCITING, I AIM FOR A TOP 10 DISPLAY"
Bronze medallist at Italian CX Championships, runner-up in the Giro d'Italia Cross stage in Silvelle, Marco Aurelio Fontana hopes for a fast start to break into the Top 20 early, and then try to move up the classification: "I have to attack the race head-on, because the course will be really muddy, demanding and with a significant difference in altitude. I hope for a strong start and some luck, and I need to draw clear lines and to limit errors. My shape is good and I think I can deliver a good performance. Considering the unfavourable position on the starting grid, I could be satisfied to finish in the Top 20, but I aim for a Top 10 display: to make it possible, I need to come out from the first bend at least in 15th position. It's not my first World Championship, but it feels exciting every time " Fontana said.
TEOCCHI: "READY TO LIVE ANOTHER GREAT DAY"
Both Under 23 Women’s CX European and Italian champion for the second year in a row, Chiara Teocchi is ready to pursue her third big seasonal goal: "The course is muddy and demanding, it will be hard on all of us, but I feel good and I had an optimal approach to the event, both physically and mentally. Everything has worked out as planned. I can't wait to start this World Championship, and possibly finish the cyclocross season on a high.”
