Van Poppel runner-up in Comunitat Valenciana's final stage

Team LottoNL-Jumbo’s Danny Van Poppel placed second with Oltre XR4 in Volta a la Comunitat Valenciana’s fifth and final stage, 131,5 km from Paterna to Valencia (Spain) on Sunday, February 4th. The Dutchman was preceded by Belgian Jurgen Roelandts, with French Clément Venturini rounding off the podium.


Previously Van Poppel had already left his mark on Volta a la Comunitat Valencia by winning the opening stage in Peñiscola (Spain) on Wednesday, January 31st, while his teammate Primoz Roglic closed fifth in Cocentaina’s stage-4 and sixth in the final classification.
