Groenewegen gives encore at Tour of Britain
One more sprint, one more success for Dylan Groenewegen. Team Jumbo-Visma’s Dutchman won the OVO Tour of Britain stage 3, 183,2 km from Berwick-upon-Tweed to Newcastle-upon-Tyne on Monday, September 9th. Like in the opener, the 26-year-old athlete from Amsterdam rode Oltre XR4 to success in the mass sprint, ahead of Mathieu Van der Peol and Davide Cimolai
Groenewegen enjoyed his 14th individual victory of 2019, whilst Team Jumbo-Visma has achieved 45 wins so far.
Mike Teunissen (4th) and Amund Grondahl Jansen (6th) rounded out team’s strong performance and Bianchi’s party in Newcastle-upon-Tyne.
VUELTA: ROGLIC STRENGTHENS LEAD
Primoz Roglic (Team Jumbo-Visma) strengthened the overall domain at the Vuelta a España after the 16th stage (Pravia – Alto de La Cubilla. Lena, 144,4 km) on Monday, September 9th, topped by Jakob Fuglsang. The Slovenian leads now with a 2:48 advantage on Alejandro Valverde and 3:42 on Tadej Pogacar.
