Why can'tlight be aero?
The next-gen Specialissima says no to compromise, giving you the very best tool for mountains and steep gradients. The lightweight, aero-optimised frame and proprietary componentry ensure you can excel on the flat roads and technical descents that come before and after the climb.
Light
The overall weight of the Specialissima is 6.6Kg, with a variation of (+/-) 5%.
Achieving this low weight meant strategic redistribution of material from the rear of the bike to the front, with super-fine seat stays and thinner chain stays, while also amping up the shape of the head tube to create the more aerodynamic front-end.
Aero
Aero efficiency at lower gradients
Compared with the previous generation, enhancements made to the Specialissima add up to 8.7 seconds saved for a rider doing 200 watts on a 10 km climb at 6%.
On the flat for 40km, 31.19 seconds are saved at 200 watts. For elite climbers doing 30km/h on a 6% gradient, 3.6 watt of effort are saved by the Specialissima’s design.
Pushing thethreshold
We call the tipping point where an allrounder can outperform an aero bike the threshold.
The data proves the next-gen Specialissima hits Threshold significantly soon than the previous generation. In comparison with the Oltre RC, and in the hands of a pro cyclist pushing 420w, the Specialissima RC becomes the best choice for climbing on gradients above 6.2%. This is due to the aerodynamic optimisation of the Specialissima, along with its excellent stiffness-to-weight, and low overall weight. For a weel-trained expert doing 300w, the Threshold is reached at 4.9. For a medium level amateur producing 250w, the Specialissima hits Threshold at 4.2%.
Enhanced experience.Everywhere.
In response to our WouldTour athletes' feedback, we wanted to make the Specialissima more efficient in the mountains. That meant upping the aero performance while preserving world-class stiffness-to-weight, so that at lower gradient inclines the aerodynamic benefits were preserved, while the ultra-light weight meant it could climb every well on steeper pitches. When creating the geometry for the Specialissima we also took rider comfrot into consideration, making it the perfect balancing addition to our elite racers' arsenal.
For mountain courses
Its stiffness-to-weight enables the Specialissima to excel on climbs, while the redesigned aerodynamics ensure it can also support you to be faster on the flat vally roads and winding descents that come before and after.
System-wide approach
Specialissima Rc represents a customised, holistic system that pursues marginal gains wherever they can be found. The engineers in our racing division, Reparto Corse, dedicated their efforts to optimising every single part of the bike. We treat the rider and bik as a single entity, in order to eke out every shred of speed.
Driven by data
In comparison to the previous generation, the enhancements made to the Specialissima add up to 8.7 seconds saved for a rider doing 200 watts on a 10 km climb at 6%.

Aero handlebar
Crucial to its improved aero performance is the Specialissima’s integrated handlebar. Available in five lenghts and with a full carbon construction, it weights just 330g for the 110mm x 380mm option. It employs the same D-shaped profile as other tubes on the Specialissima RC’s frame.
Overall optimised
Reparto Corse invested time into optimising very single part of the bike. This means strategic redistribution of material from the rear of the bike to the front, with super-fine seat stays and thinner chain stays, while also amping up the shape of the head tube to create a more aerodynamic fron-end. Individual parts of the Specialissima like the derailleur hanger and seat clamp have been individually shaped for minimal weight.

D-shaped tubes
A D-shaped seat post sees the deployment of the same aerodynamically optimised profile that is used on other sub-sections of the bike.
RC wheels
Specialissima RC features Reparto Corse wheels with 33 mm carbon rims (700x21C) and Ceramitech high-performance fast-rolling hubs. The wheels are tubeless-ready; the minimum tire width is 25 mm. The special spoke lacing balances stiffness and tension to produce a wheel that’s reliable and high performing.
RC saddle
The Reparto Corse RC139 saddle supports great performance with an aggressive seat position on the bike. Get aero and stay low with vibration reduction.
