Wout Van Aert flies to win Dauphiné TT
Team Jumbo-Visma’s Wout Van Aert claimed an outstanding success in Critérium du Dauphiné stage 4, a 26,1 km with start and finish in Roanne (France) on Wednesday, June 12th. The Belgian delivered a superb performance with Aquila CV both in climbed and flat stretches, completing his race in 33’38”, with a 31-second advantage on Tejay Van Garderen and 47 seconds on Tom Dumoulin. Team Jumbo-Visma’s leader Steven Kruijswijk finished fourth.
Runner-up in Critérium du Dauphiné opener and third in stage 3 with Oltre XR4, Van Aert climbed the GC of the French World-Tour race, going up to ninth position, with a 30-second gap from the new leader Adam Yates. Kruijswijk is fifth overall, 24 seconds behind Yates. Van Aert leads both the Points and the Youth Classifications.
