Bianchi ends outstanding Tour de France on the podium

Team Jumbo Visma’s Oltre XR4 proved to be one of the most complete racing bikes in the Tour, with three stage wins and Primoz Roglic on the podium on the Champs Elysees.

Bianchi continued its streak on the Tour de France overall podium: after the third place of Steven Kruijswijk in 2019 edition, Primoz Roglic claimed the overall second position in the 107th edition of La Grande Boucle, on Sunday September 20th, 2020, behind winner Tadej Pogacar with Richie Porte in third to round out a podium of stars.

Bianchi and the Team Jumbo-Visma dominated the 2020 Grande Boucle edition, winning three stages with Primoz Roglic and Wout Van Aert, and wearing the yellow jersey for nearly two weeks of racing. Tom Dumoulin’s seventh overall place also certified the outstanding performance.

Technology and development at the highest level are key to competing in top-notch cycling. Bianchi Oltre XR4 and Aquila CV are the highest expressions of this philosophy, as demonstrated during the Tour de France. The bikes ridden by the Team Jumbo-Visma riders employ the trademark Bianchi CV System that cancels up 80% of road vibration thanks to a unique composite material integrated into Bianchi’s high-performance carbon frames and forks.

To best support the Team Jumbo-Visma climbers at the Tour de France, Bianchi developed a unique paint system that significantly reduces the molecular weight of the coating. Thanks to Bianchi particular paint system, Primoz Roglic, Tom Dumoulin and their teammates saved up to 80gr on the bike’s total weight, improving the power to weight ratio when climbing.

The same paint system will be introduced by Bianchi in some of the upcoming 2021 high-end collection models, delivering to the market a technology tested and developed at Tour de France, the most important and selective competition in the world cycling.
