Bianchi on the podium at the Road World Championships

After the Monument successes at Strade Bianche and Milano-Sanremo, Wout Van Aert added a second silver medal at the 2020 UCI Road World Championship with Oltre XR4.

Bianchi Oltre XR4 and Wout Van Aert grazed the Rainbow Jersey in Imola (Italy): the Belgian rider clinched the silver medal at 2020 UCI World Road Race Championships, 258,2 km on Sunday September 27th, 2020. In the sprint for second behind Julian Alaphilippe, Van Aert outsprinted Marc Hirschi, stepping on the World Championships podium after the silver medal in ITT race. After the Strade Bianche and Milano-Sanremo victory, the Team Jumbo-Visma rider grazed a prestigious result to embellish his remarkable season. Another Bianchi Oltre XR4 finished in top ten thanks to the sixth place of Primoz Roglic.

Since 1885, Bianchi helps Champions to make racing history thanks to advanced technology and design. Oltre XR4 used the Bianchi CV system that enhances handling control by cancelling up to 80% of road vibrations thanks to a unique composite material integrated into Bianchi’s high-performance carbon frames and forks. The advantages for the riders are increased control, less muscle fatigue and, ultimately, more energy available at the crucial moment.

At the 2020 UCI Road World Championships, Wout Van Aert, Primoz Roglic and Tom Dumoulin used a special Oltre XR4 in a black colourway. Bianchi developed a unique paint system that significantly reduces the molecular weight of the coating. Thanks to Bianchi particular paint system, the Bianchi’s rider saved up to 80gr on the bike’s total weight, improving the power to weight ratio when climbing.
