Van Aert wins Milano-Sanremo

After the Strade Bianche’s victory, Bianchi achieved the first Monument of the season, Milano-Sanremo, held on Saturday August 8th 2020, on the extended 305 km distance, thanks to another major display by Wout Van Aert. The Team Jumbo-Visma’s Belgian earned the top step of the podium by beating Julian Alaphilippe in a really close two-way sprint to the line, and confirmed his stellar moment, taking the first Monument of the career with the help of Bianchi’s top-performance bike, Oltre XR4.

I’m super happy. I can’t believe I’ve taken these two victories in a row. I can’t find the words actually. I know everyone says that when they win a Monument but to start the second part of the season like this… it’s crazy” said Van Aert at the end of the race.

Thanks to Van Aert’s victory, Bianchi returned to ruling in Sanremo. The Belgian rider perfectly rode his Oltre XR4 in the last few kilometres of the Milano-Sanremo, showing a perfect control of the bike, which was clear on the frantic Poggio descent: courtesy of the Bianchi CV system – cancelling up to 80% of the road vibrations -, that helped him to regain the wake of leader Alaphilippe.

Since 1885, Bianchi helps Champions to make racing history thanks to the research of the best innovations. Oltre XR4 is the highest example of this work with a continue investing in technologies, materials and construction techniques to make the best bike possible. At the sprint, Van Aert took advantage of his bike’s aerodynamic skills, finding the power for the decisive final effort. Because on the great days, every watts count. Just like in Sanremo.
